Hi, I’m Joe – an airline pilot and systemic-psychological coach. I help people overcome anxiety and stress and support them in creating more fulfilling relationships.
I am a pilot as well as a certified systemic-psychological counselor and coach (HISL) and licensed as a “Heilpraktiker for psychotherapy”.
I am also trained as a systemic mediator and as a mental health professional for stress management after critical incidents (ICISF).
In Hamburg-Eppendorf/Lokstedt, I offer personal and professional coaching and counseling for individuals, couples, and organizations. With my experience as a commercial airline pilot, I specialize in nervousness and fear of flying, as well as stress and anxiety in general.
Additionally, thanks to my systemic training, I enjoy working extensively with relationship and couple-related issues.
I have been flying since I was 18 and professionally piloting commercial aircraft since 2007. Alongside developing my flying skills, I also took part in leadership seminars, human factors training, and crew resource management courses. I have been trained to manage stressful situations and am a member of the peer group for stress management after critical incidents with the Mayday Foundation.
Before my career as a pilot, I worked full-time as a professional film and media creator. Many of my current insights into team leadership and communication stem from this period. Today, I only take on selected projects out of personal interest and creative enjoyment.
Over nearly three decades of professional experience, I have collaborated with a wide range of people, clients, and organizations. This, together with my life experience and personal biography, has profoundly shaped my approach as a consultant, coach, and human being.
In the film and media industry, I learned how crucial communication, trust, and creativity are when teams work under pressure.
In aviation, I acquired professional tools for communication, teamwork, workload management, situational awareness, and decision-making.
Through my systemic-psychological training, I have deepened my knowledge of psychological, psychotherapeutic, and coaching techniques and now integrate them with my experiences from other fields.
I enjoy creating a connection between the fact-based external world and the individual internal world with its own realities.
I value the principles of humanistic therapy and approach my clients with appreciation, acceptance, and authentic self-expression.
To ensure the quality of my work, I regularly participate in continuing education and supervision.
I am a member of the Quality Circle at the Hamburg Institute for Systemic Solutions.
